TRAFFORD GOLF CENTRE COMBATS LONELINESS WITH CHATTY CAFE SCHEME
Manchester’s top golfing venue joins quest to reduce loneliness
Europe’s premiere golf practice facility, Trafford Golf Centre is joining a mission to reduce loneliness in Greater Manchester as it proudly becomes a Chatty Café venue.
Set up to get people chatting and combat loneliness in communities, Trafford Golf Centre’s Starbucks Café & Bar is joining The Chatty Café Scheme which encourages venues to have a Chatter & Natter table where customers can sit if they are happy to talk to other customers.
Director of Golf at Trafford Golf Centre, Pete Styles said: “We pride ourselves on being an inclusive venue, welcoming people from all walks of life to enjoy golf – whether that be out on the driving range or on the adventure golf courses. The Chatty Café Scheme’s values resonate with us as they focus on bringing people of all ages and from all walks of life together.”
“We’re honoured to be offering this to people who may be feeling lonely in the local area and we look forward to welcoming them into our newly refurbished Starbucks Café & Bar throughout our opening hours for a good old chat.”
The designated Chatter & Natter table will be available Monday to Sunday, 7:00am to 10:30pm. A sign will be visible on the table to let customers know and encourage conversation to brighten the day.
Alexandra Hoskyn, Founder of The Chatty Café said, “The Chatty Café is thrilled to welcome Trafford Golf Centre to our scheme. Anyone can join in and chat over a coffee – if you’re on your own, in a couple, with a friend, young people, old people and anyone in between. It’s just about having good old fashioned human interaction, we hope the offer of a Chatter & Natter table at the café and bar will allow for lots of happy chatting!”
Featuring a licensed Café & Bar, six target greens spread over 300 yards and the largest American Golf retail store in the north, Trafford Golf Centre is like Disney World for any golfer – as quoted by Vice Chairman of Battle Back and past Invictus Games Captain, Bernie Broad. Trafford Golf Centre is also home to Manchester’s most popular 36-hole adventure golf course, Dino Falls Adventure Golf.
