Battle Back Warriors take on Trafford Golf Centre for the fifth year

On Friday 29th September, Trafford Golf Centre’s PGA Professionals took on the Battle Back Warriors at Davyhulme Park Golf Club for the fifth year running.

Eight golfers from each team met at the course in Urmston to battle it out across four very close matches, including club professional Martyn Hamer. The determination and grit of the battle back golfers, plus some generous handicaps, resulted in another great win for the Battle Back golf veterans.

Speaking about the day, Pete Styles – Director of Golf at Trafford Golf Centre said: “Battle Back is an amazing charity and we’re proud to support them. We look forward to playing with the Battle Back Warriors each year, it was an emotional and humbling day for all concerned with plenty of stories shared. The team’s golf improves year on year – and they’ve now taken the win on four occasions in the last five years.”

I’d like to thank Davyhulme Park Golf Club for their support, hosting the day free of charge and providing buggies to support the golfers with walking difficulties.”

“And of course, I’d like to thank the Trafford Golf Centre professionals for their sportsmanship and valued support – it is appreciated by all at Battle Back Golf. Golf is such an important tool in rehabilitation and this particular day is the highlight of the Battle Back Warrior’s golfing year.”
